While we believe #Accessibility should be a key component of any project from the outset, one of the advantages of open source is that those with the knowledge are able to contribute to projects to help address shortcomings. @wireshark is "The world's most popular #network protocol analyzer", and a fellow #OpenSource project. Do we know any #A11y coders with an interest in #Networking willing to give them a hand with accessibility? See their post here: fosstodon.org/@wireshark@ioc.e #FOSS

Elon Musk’s Starlink Takes Over the White House

The world’s richest man now has control over the internet at the White House.

"numerous #conflicts of interest & #ethics issues. #Musk already collects billions of dollars through his #government contracts, & controls #Starlink. If #WhiteHouse employees are using the #internet service, he could have access to their #data... questions as to how secure Starlink’s #network is."

Thant you for your words on how to kill a movement @Daojoan

One of the best tactics of #Counterinsurgency is to make you belief that they have no chance, or, even worse: that it is too late for #resistance

Because if it is too late now - it means you are guilty. Because you have not done anything before

Do not let them do that to you

You can always #resist

And if it is just to change your breathing pattern to annoy them

Find people to connect with, to build an #analogue #network

Guys I've been thinking about this recently
So the telegraph has existed for a while, and became widespread in 1800s. Charles Babbage worked on the first mechanical #computers in the 1820s

What would be the earliest point in time in which a #Bitcoin like #Blockchain could've been made?

As I understand it all the system needs is a #network of computers each running a program that checks for transactions

I'm wondering if a different hash function was used it could be a lot simpler to implement into hardware, but if mechanical computing wasn't powerful enough for that the earliest might've been after WWII with the code breaking machines that the Allies invented

Any boosts would be greatly appreciated!

Just read the paper "The Roots Go Deep", until I suddenly realized something from my teenage days: My first big moment of networking was, when I stopped using a public #DNS resolver and hosted my own recursive resolver in my #homelab (not exposed to the Internet because it was all way too scary back then). The thrill I felt when my own resolver was talking to #root servers and resolving domain names without using any of the large providers was phenomenal. I know, I know, I was a nerd. Yet, I believe this was a shaping moment of my future path. Since then I was amazed by #network protocols and #internet infrastructure.

Funny, how those little side quests while in school can kick off an entire future carrier path.
