In case USA provides even more surprises, can Europe run our own root name servers as an alternative to root-servers.net, since .net zone is operated by VeriSign, and .org (hosting root hints) by Public Internet Registry, which are both US entities? 
Correction: root hints are on .net domain too, IANA only links to actual file.
Ma’alkoush was happy his daughters, Feast and Slaughter, had invited over a few human friends. He left them to it.

“Some plants are poisonous to humans. You’re only half human. Demon blood protects you.”
He looked at the food on the table. “Did you give them elderberries? That’s definitely a plant humans shouldn’t eat. Not deadly, but very unpleasant.”
Wide-eyed, Slaughter asked, “Even the roots?”
“Yes, even the roots.”
Just read the paper "The Roots Go Deep", until I suddenly realized something from my teenage days: My first big moment of networking was, when I stopped using a public #DNS resolver and hosted my own recursive resolver in my #homelab (not exposed to the Internet because it was all way too scary back then). The thrill I felt when my own resolver was talking to #root servers and resolving domain names without using any of the large providers was phenomenal. I know, I know, I was a nerd. Yet, I believe this was a shaping moment of my future path. Since then I was amazed by #network protocols and #internet infrastructure.
Funny, how those little side quests while in school can kick off an entire future carrier path.

We managed to crack Hisense A9 bootloader lock, and root over at XDA brainpower. Good old times of compiling AOSP and porting CyanogenMod (nowadays LineageOS).
Rumor has it that Hisense is downsizing the team behind these... it's a shame! Now debloated from Chinese specific apps and running Google Services.
We could also now port @postmarketOS 
. Would be interesting to see Gnome Mobile on eink!

After THREE YEARS finally my first #CVE request has actually been processed!!
I have found an authenticated LFI via path traversal with the web server running as #root in the #yealink W60B #ip #phone, which allows an attacker to read any arbitrary file. I could not manage to escalate it to a RCE at the time, but since it's now public if anyone wants to take a look at the #firmware (I still want to root that thing after all) the CVE is CVE-2020-24113
In addition to #writing, I'm a huge fan of #TTRPGs and #BoardGames. In particular, I play and DM #DnD and #Pathfinder, but I love to dabble in all sorts of other systems as well. If it uses #dice and it's complicated in a good way (like the #scythe and #root board games), I'm in!
