Voegelin defines #stupidity as a “loss of reality.” The loss of reality means a “stupid” person cannot “rightly orient his action in the world, in which he lives.” The #demagogue, who is always an idiote, is not a freak or social mutation. The demagogue expresses the society’s #zeitgeist, its collective departure from a rational world of verifiable fact.

Die #socialmedia der #TechOligarchie und der direkten oder indirekten Regierungskontrolle sind eine Kriegswaffe der #Desinformation. Im Gegengewicht ist das dezentrale #fediverse die #balance für sinnvollen Meinungs- und Informationsaustausch. Vernetzung für #demokratiebildung ist der #Zeitgeist der progressiven Kräfte.

There's a quote I've never thought to source because it always just seemed to be a thing in the ether - y'know?

I just saw someone refer to push bikes/bicycles as acoustic bikes. I think I'm going to start calling them organic bikes, just so I can stay ahead of the zeitgeist curve.
