The price of some Canva subscriptions are set to skyrocket next year following the company’s aggressive rollout of generative AI features. The company says the increase is justified due to the “expanded product experience, ” @theverge reports. theverge.com/2024/9/3/24234698 #Canva #AI #IPO

154) Now here’s a huge surprise #Trump’s new grift in the stock market only made it to #IPO with #Russian money.

I’m guessing this investment channeled through the island of #Domnica is on the up and up 🙄

#Putin wouldn’t have anything to do with this. All roads on #DonaldTrump’s world lead to Moscow

What a turnaround, right after the lamestream media kept claiming #Trump was in the tank! Another genius business move from the Donald, right in time for him to cover his somewhat discounted #legal bills!

Except … not really, bc a lot of what powered the 1st-day boom is not tenable in the longer term—much like TruthSocial’s business itself.

To put it simply: The success of #TrumpMedia’s #IPO has less to do w/its viability as an enterprise & more to do w/the fandom surrounding that famous name.

It's incredibly shameful and sad what has happened today to asylum seekers in Dublin. I'm lost for words, so I'll quote messages from the amazing volunteers that are helping them:
"This morning, without warning, people camped out at the IPO were told to get out of their tents and that they were being moved.

Far right seemed to have been tipped off and came and slashed tents and destroyed belongings.

The asylum seekers have been moved outside the city and just given more tents to put up themselves.
They've literally been cleared away like rubbish for optics for St Patrick's parade
Thousands of euro of tents and equipment have been destroyed at the IPO. All of which was bought or gathered by the volunteers."

"If you are a certain kind of cynical, Reddit’s S-1 filing sets off alarm bells. There’s the mention of r/WallStreetBets. (Five mentions in total, actually.) There’s the stockpile it’s amassed of Bitcoin and Ethereum. And there’s the program to give certain power users the option of buying stock before it debuts on the public market."

Holy shit this is really going to be a bigger clusterfuck than expected huh

A lot of Redditors hate the Reddit IPO:

There’s gloomy speculation about the measures management may take to make the company profitable — which Subreddits might be banned, how much users might have to pay to post, a heavier ad load, etc.

They already Disallowed NSFW reedits from being accessed through the API (and therefore any third party apps)

Users are also mad that Aaron Swartz has been erased as a co-founder.
