Saint Patrick isn't the only saint who is celebrated on March 17th. As usual, my first drink of today will be for Saint Gertrude of Nivelles, the patron of gardeners, cats, and people suffering from mental illness.

Cabbage is an essential part of a #SaintPatricksDay tradition. Guadalupe is a farm worker who harvested red and green cabbage in Arvin CA. Harvesting cabbage requires a worker to bend and stand up for 8 hours a day and is hard on the back. #WeFeedYou

It's incredibly shameful and sad what has happened today to asylum seekers in Dublin. I'm lost for words, so I'll quote messages from the amazing volunteers that are helping them:
"This morning, without warning, people camped out at the IPO were told to get out of their tents and that they were being moved.

Far right seemed to have been tipped off and came and slashed tents and destroyed belongings.

The asylum seekers have been moved outside the city and just given more tents to put up themselves.
They've literally been cleared away like rubbish for optics for St Patrick's parade
Thousands of euro of tents and equipment have been destroyed at the IPO. All of which was bought or gathered by the volunteers."

Feeling lucky to be able to spend so much time with my Hubby to celebrate 22 years together. :)
