Salesforce/Slack are assholes. Check out alternatives like Zulip, Mattermost, IRC, or anything which you can host yourself. Skip things like Discord and comparable, they're corporate money making engines, who will sell you out in a heartbeat.

IRC muutti minun elämäni täysin. Pääsin yhteisöihin, joista en ollut aiemmin tietoinen. Löysin samanhenkisiä nettikavereita. Löysin elämänkumppanin @rolle n sieltä. Pidimme myös häät IRCissä. Maistraatissa meidän kahden lisäksi oli kaksi muuta IRCkaveria.
Ja mikä parasta. IRCissä vammani ei näy muille. Olin täysin samalla viivalla kaikkien muiden kanssa. En ollut se outolintu, jota kierretään aina kaukaa. Minua ei syrjitty sen takia, että käytin eri kieltä, viittomakieltä. Minua ei syrjitty, kun käytin apuvälineitä. Kuten kuulolaitteita ja valkoista keppiä. Minut nähtiin vihdoinkin ihmisenä. IRC on ainoa paikka missä pystyin olemaan minä. Juuri sellaisenaan. Tämä ei ollut mahdollista kasvotusten, kodin ulkopuolella. Ableistinen yhteiskunta ajoi minut verkkoon ja uskon pysyväni myös siellä. Edes joku yksi paikka missä voin olla ja hengailla. Kiitos IRC, kun olet olemassa. Kiitos kehittäjille, jotka loivat IRCin.

One thing that really pisses me off personally is the #regression in terms of #Messenger #Apps.
My personal distaste and dislike for #proprietary, #SingleVendor & #SingleProvider #services like #Signal ¹ ², #Telegram, #Discord ³ ⁴, #WhatsApp 5, #Slack, #MicrosoftTeams, etc. aside:
WHY is there no #CrossProvider #Messenger to handle that shite?
WHY does everyone of these shitty providers think people want to download their #bloated #WebApp that takes up triple digit Megabytes if not entire Gigabytes and will gobble up all the #RAM and #CPU each of them can??
This problem ain't new and already got solved for corporate social media ages ago! (Not to mention actually good messengers!)
I mean API 0 - style access because obviously none of the platforms will allow, endorse or support such an endeavour and actively fight the developers and users !
So yeah, consider this a call for a @gajim / #Gajim or @pidgin / #Pidgin for garbage platforms!

"Portugal é o 3º país da OCDE com maior diferença entre a taxa efetiva aplicada aos salários e a que é aplicada aos dividendos. Esta diferença beneficia fundamentalmente os mais ricos: permite-lhes optar por uma taxa liberatória mais baixa do que aquela que pagariam se os rendimentos de capital fossem tributados segundo a mesma progressividade que se aplica aos do trabalho, como é explicado num estudo do economista Alexandre Mergulhão para a associação Causa Pública.
