#HotTake: Every #human should be entitled by international #law to free, unseizeable #ID documents in the form of a travel #passport to evidence their #identity and have #FreedomOfMovement as well as a chance to #flee.

Why?

#hottake: The 1975 is just Radiohead for zillenials. Both are lauded by critics as revolutionary despite their problematic normalization of injustice. Both are posers and culture vultures. Their ethics don't match their aesthetic. They may "popularize" certain sounds, but so did Clapton.

(If you're unaware, Radiohead has repeatedly crossed the picket line and played in Israel despite calls for BDS amid Israel's genocide of Palestinians.)

Am I the only one who has become way more hyped for (G)I-DLE solo stuff than group projects?

From Yuqi's YUQ1 last year to my growing hype for Minnie's solo EP, I have been enjoying it much more than their group music for a couple years now.

Maybe it's me.

Maybe somewhat #HotTake: If we got rid of #PDF s for #accessibility and replaced them with semantic #HTML, we would see one of, if not the, largest curb-cut moment in the history of computing.

EVERYONE would benefit, even people who want to print them, because you can change text-size relative to paper when printing HTML.

The only technical thing that is kinda missing to make this viable is a proper standardized container-format that can store things like images in the same file. (Yes, data-URLs are a thing and nice for small stuff, but utterly inefficient for anything large.) Maybe we should start looking into that.

I think the majority of so-called "workshops" are waste of time: Rituals that allow everyone to feel like they are doing actual - maybe even creative - work while mostly not moving things forward that much (and sometimes creating distractions to follow instead of actual work on relevant and meaningful problems).

@dgar

- How ever long it takes to tell the story you are trying to tell.

- see above

- If those songs help tell the story add them.

- Is it worth it to you to put the time and energy into making the thing? If yes then its worth it!

My possibly unpopular #hottake:

Artists should not consider their audience at all. Make the art you want to make. Tell the story you want to tell. Don't muddy the waters with what some yet unknown listener might think.
