'... [Carolee] Schneemann was a life-long documentor and kept diaries and scrapbooks dating back as early as 1951, now all part of Stanford University’s archives. Following the five year embargo period on their use, the first thirty-six volumes in this collection (1951–78) are now fully digitized and available to view online, providing an invaluable free and easily accessible look at her thinking and creative process.'

"The Department of Archives and Special Collections in the University of Mississippi Libraries is partnering with Rowan Oak to re-create Faulkner's extensive collection of books, encyclopedias and novels on a digital platform. The effort will make the noted author's inspiration available to researchers and avid readers alike."

We all know folks in the humanities who have lost grants this last week or two.

The Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media shared grants terminated through their center. All of them so worthy, all of them so exciting, so innovative.

Crushing.

Read more here. Their work is so vital, and while it sounds like the center itself is ok, not a bad time to show support.

'Personally, I don't define DH. Definitions should be done by others than myself. But I have a pretty clear understanding what I think DH is: DH is the 'place' where various disciplines meet, especially informatics and humanities. There are numerous of problems that can only be solved if those expertises are brought together. The project I'm working on - SeNeReKo - is a great example for such co-operation of multiple disciplines.'

Finally actually sent my email to withdraw from #DH2025 .

I'm usually very much a "do all the things, fear of missing out" person and I've never withdrawn from a conference before, so it was actually quite a difficult email to make myself write. And I'm not sure if it was sensible to actually tell them why I'm not going, but I hope it's worth giving people actual feedback.
