WAR CRIMINALS ARE NOT WELCOME
Tonight, 8th April at 18:00, we will be holding a counter protest outside Finsen in Tórshavn.
Why?
Because "Friends of Israel" are holding an event where they invited a representative from IDF (which is under investigations of genocide) and a representative of illegal settlements in Palestine and Syria. We want to make it clear that WAR CRIMINALS ARE NOT WELCOME.

We were around 30+ people in total who met to demonstrate against the event hosting war criminals.
We lined up outside the entrance to the venue and chanted at the genocide supporters as they were entering and then leaving the event.
In.fo headlines with "Stole a israeli flag in Finsen". They have no mention of what we were protesting except for that it was a protest against an event by the 'Faroe Islands Israel' friendship group.
We were protesting the event because two war criminals, Lilach Ashtar and Talia Sapir, were invited to the Faroes by the Faroese christian zionists.
Instead they focus solely on the one israeli flag that was stolen. They also did not reach out for comment.
Dimma headlines with "This should probably not happen in the Faroe Islands". Saying the protest went a little out of hand because there was some yelling and a flag was stolen.
Again, no mention of what we were protesting and they did not reach out to us for comments.

The police did though finally admit that we do have the right to assemble in public without notifying them beforehand.
To many protests I have been to that have not been announced to the police beforehand, the police have said that we are required to do that. We have been pretty adamant that we do in fact not have to do that.
And... the police finally admitted publicly that the constitution does in fact allow us to assemble in public without prior notice.

Police say the person who took the "Israeli" flag has been found and is being interrogated today. They will be persuing a fine under §110e in the criminal code:
"A person who publicly insults a foreign nation, a foreign country, its flag or other recognized national emblem or the flag of the United Nations or the Council of Europe shall be punished by a fine or imprisonment for up to two years"
