Holy 90s adventure revival, Batman. Neofeud is a non stop feast of deja vues of interesting but
arguably worse games from the 90s like Noctropolis, Harvester or | Have No Mouth and | Have
To Scream, done mainly by a (arguably very very intelligent) guy that is from Hawaii and works
as a robotics teacher in a probably difficult place - meaning, what you see in the game are
things that probably he has been living there. The best part though is how he mixes all the 90s
“cd rom multimedia” cyberpunk aesthetic and how he runs with it all along. And the game is
very well written, very fair (for the moment at least) and has atmosphere in spades.

Maybe if the references are nothing to you, you will not be able to enjoy it. But that's part of it.
Neofeud is a game about empathy, about humanity, about fighting the oppressor, which is
what Cyberpunk was about until it was washed out to be the bland neon aesthetic of today. |
love it. | love the author, and | hope to see many things from him.

opiate, they keep the less-evolved, the defectives, those not entitled Z
to a place in the heavens, an... exhaust outlet.

I've sat down and tried to write a review for this game about 8 to 10 times but did not know.
where to begin, so I'll just contribute my review as a sentence with some sparse thoughts on
the work
Neofeud is the most visionary game on Steam evocative of the creator's passion, sparing what
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain could have been. Never have | seen a game produced
by such a small studio translate a vision so well.
tis a point and click adventure game wherein each line of dialogue is voice acted, and each
scene has a MsPaint charm while expressing pure imagination, for example a chateau’s ceiling
where there is a painting of nearly infinite patterns, reflecting the royal's fascination with the
godhead of technological transcendence.
In sum, Neofeud considers the following:
- UBI controlled slums filled with transgenic and outdated synthetics / androids deemed non-
sentients and refuse.
- DRM cigarettes
- Hypermodernity through a Baudrillardian simulation and simulacra of "consensus reality”
interested rulers.
- The sythesis of the contemporary prison and military industrial complexes.
- scepticism of the motives from those like Elon Musk who promote optimal adjustments to
capitalism or late stage capitalism. Authenticity in social movements and how they're
frequently co-opted; references to

@nimi @papuass @stefan @freediverx yeah except you can't force bad actors to use your commercial API if they still have an open route in, that basically cost them next to nothing. It really doesn't matter #scraping isn't elegant. It works, it's cheap. It's basically an arms race that #opensource #openknowledge were never designed to wage. My only hope is that the #cyberpunk spirit will reorganise itself along those faultlines and fight the good fight.

Neofeud is a brilliant ride.
Video games can not only be a vessel to escape reality, but can also force players to confront
and engage with reality, and this is what Neofeud does.
There is some text-heavy criticism of this game, but | personally really enjoyed this approach. I
found the gameplay to be a satisfying combination of demonstration and commentary , and
while the commentary was heavier, it was so immersive and thought out that | am glad it was
not cut down. | laughed at times and felt immensely infuriated at times, given the parallels of
injustice in our world highlighted by the game creator. This is the kind of storytelling and world-
building richness | crave in games. Neofeud explored the depths that makes up our capitalist
reality and | found the game to be a multidimensional representation of Marx's Das Kapital. It
iis received as a labor of love, one that speaks to the cultural references of our generation.
Logistic-gameplay-wise, | appreciate the length of the game given how heavy some of the
world-building and material was. At times the inventory/environment interface was challenging
to navigate as you had to hover your mouse over the right spot in order to trigger a clickable
action, but it wasn't insurmountable. I enjoyed the puzzles; however, there were a few that
were too easy in that the player could click down a list to eliminate all wrong answers until they
landed on the correct one. Overall, | found the puzzles to make sense in the story progressio
