Cookeilidh has been delighting audiences for over 15 years with their high energy traditional, and modernized Celtic tunes. Comprised of 12-string guitar, electric bass, Irish flute, fiddle, bodhran, and vocals, they weave their own special blend of Trad with Attitude, Celtic Craic, and Pot O' Gold Folk!

Mixing the tunes of #Ireland and #Scotland, with a heaping spoonful of #Maritime flavour, and a dash of #Folk is their recipe for a modern day kitchen party!

Recently, I've started to pay more attention to the #lyricists and other personnel listed on the #music I listen to, and I am learning about a vast pool of #musicians I've never heard of. For example, many of the songs on #BonnieRaitt 's first album were written by #Black people. Can the industry do a better job of acknowledging everyone's contributions? Maybe #DJ s should mention songwriters and soloists when announcing #bands and #vocalists ?

Dear fellow #musicians, all the bands I've played in over the past 30 years were able to confirm/deny show offers within minutes or hours. This seems to be a huge issue among younger #bands. What is the reason for this? Arrogance? Organizational chaos? Every delay makes planning more difficult.

Just updated my website with a page of links to sites and services where independent artists and musicians can set up direct streaming of their music to their fans, with some of these supporting digital download sales and other direct merching too. Nice thing is a bunch of these sites are foss and hook into the Fediverse

A bit disheartened by how many punk / indie bands, promoters, etc. are still exclusively using X, Insta & Facebook. I get that moving to fedi platforms (or at least Bluesky) means a drop in 'reach', but better that than tacitly condoning the conduct of Musk et al. A better internet is possible.
